Kathleen Fortenberry is founder and principal consultant of Fortenberry & Associates, Inc.  She brings over 30 years of experience in the fields of Information Governance (IG) and Records and Information Management (RIM).  She has worked with governments from local, state and federal to world governing bodies such as the United Nations.  Her corporate experience ranges from small and start-up companies to national and international corporations.  Her experience covers a vast range of industries and disciplines.

 

Ms. Fortenberry has provided organizations and businesses expertise in assessing their capabilities handling and managing their information, systems, practices and protocols; developing easy to understand findings reports and implementable strategic plans; developing information governance / records and information management governing structures, programs, policies, and audit requirements; developing training criteria and curriculum for both client specific and online education; and providing research and recommendations into electronic solutions and methodologies for client use.  She remains knowledgeable of the various state, national and international legal and business requirements.

 

Ms. Fortenberry holds a B.S. in Business Administration (minor in Economics) from Regis University and advanced education in Information Resource Management from the Graduate School of Librarianship and Information Management, a part of the University of Denver.  She has been a Certified Records Manager (CRM) since 1992 and both grades the case study portion of the CRM exam and mentors CRM Candidates.  She is currently or has held various positions on the Board of Directors and Advisory Committees of ARMA International.
